A revolution in insulated glass fire flooring

Non-fire rated materials will last only a short time before softening and collapsing, allowing fire to spread quickly from level to level, endangering life and destroying property. Triple Lite™ Firefloor incorporating Pilkington Pyrostop™ will protect for over one hour for both integrity and insulation, allowing safe evacuation of people and prolonged protection to the building fabric.

Triple-Lite™ Firefloor is a single layer glass to glass butt jointed system, suitable for domestic and commercial glass floor applications. The key breakthrough with Triple-Lite™ Firefloor is its tested ability to withstand over 60 minutes of fire challenge. The complete glass, frame and supporting system with all components has been fully tested to the new UK and European fire floor standards, meaning that Triple-lite™ Firefloor is the only glass floor that can be specified for both fire exit routes and pedestrian traffic.

Triple-Lite™ Firefloor, incorporating Pilkington Pyrostop™, is designed, manufactured and installed across the UK and Europe by Glazeguard (S.W.) Ltd.

Installation data

In order to meet the stringent requirements for a Firefloor installation can only be carried out by Glazeguard (S.W.) Ltd or one of their approved installers. Design dimensions are available on request.

Features

Large panel sizes - up to 3m x 1.1m panels can be abutted to form larger glass floors.
Fully load and fire tested - meets all current requirements for European and UK standards as well as UK building regulations.
Integrity after fire - Triplelite™ Firefloor remains useable even after 60 minutes of fire testing.
Natural light - all the benefits of a glass floor for natural light transmission with the additional benefit of a 60 minute fire rating. This allows glass to be used where not previously possible.

Technical Data

Triple-Lite™ Firefloor is tested to current UK standards and approved by CE mark to all current relevant European standards (EN 1365 part 2:2000, EN 12543 pts 1-6, EN 14449 & calculated in accordance with BS 6399). Tested to loads of 4.5Kn uniform and 5.0Kn/m2 concentrated in accordance with BS 6399. Test at the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in the UK, the test included simultaneous loaded and fired test. The Triple-Lite™ Firefloor sustained full commercial loading and retained its integrity in excess of 60 minutes, passing all required safety standards. On completion of the fire test Triple-Lite™ Firefloor remained undamaged and able to sustain full commercial loading.
