Handling /Storage

Safeguard should remain stacked on its edge with appropriate edge and corner protection removed only at the point of installation. Safeguard should not be stacked in wet conditions or in direct sunlight prior to installation.

Glazing

All glazing must be carried out in accordance with our installation provisions.

Typical Weight: 2.56kg/m2/mm thickness
Thickness range: from 6.8mm
Minimum size: 300 x 500mm
Maximum size: 6 metres x 1800mm
Manufacturing tolerance: +/- 3mm in accordance with BS EN 952 and GGF standard for the Quality of Thermally Toughened Glass for Building.

Safety Requirements:

Safeguard is a structural safety product and is not designed to withstand pedestrian traffic in BS6399. Safeguard products should only be installed using approved compatible glazing materials (please refer to Glazeguard S.W. Ltd for further information). Where edges are likely to be exposed to moisture then we strongly suggest that a form of edge protection is applied. Mechanical and structural calculations are available at a cost to be agreed. Safeguard should not be installed in applications where sustained temperatures exceeding 60°C will be experienced.

General Notes:

Manufacturing, appearance and visual tolerances in accordance with EN 12543 pts 1-6.

Bubbles
During the laminating process it is possible that small air bubbles may be entrapped; these may naturally disperse during the curing process. Any latent defects may be treated and will not adversely affect the performance of Safeguard products. Bubbles under 3mm in diameter and not visible from 3 metres away in normal daylight will be deemed acceptable.

Specifiers
An edge tape may be evident unless otherwise specified. Completion of mechanical and thermal safety checks for any application remains the responsibility of the person(s) placing the order.
